In 1895 Maine chose not a delicate flower, but a cone and tassel as its official floral emblem; a nod to its rugged landscapes, forests, and timeworn traditions. Today, its presence endures lining backroads, ridgelines, and standing as a symbol of the enduring spirit of the Pine Tree State.
