Rhode Island Blue Violet Postcards
There’s magic in the blooms of our region, and we’ve captured it here. Each postcard features Rhode Island's Blue Violet, printed in small batches with edges painted by hand. Perfect for sending, framing, or sliding into a book, these postcards carry a little piece of New England wherever they go.
The blue violet was voted as the state flower by Rhode Island’s school children in 1897, far surpassing contenders like the rose and pansy. Though beloved, it wasn’t officially adopted as the state flower until 1968. The blue violet symbolizes peace and faithfulness, with its calming blue hue a reminder of Rhode Island’s coastline.
